SCWIM Membership Details There are two types of memberships available, which are explained below. Full Membership This is available to all supporters of Stoke City Football Club who are regarded as being disabled, either by registration, through medical advice, or who are currently in receipt of disability related benefits that relate specifically to their individual condition. For the purposes of defining SCWIM Membership types, the term disabled applies to any person who has any physical or mental impairment, which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on their ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities. The term disabled is not intended to be a derogatory remark, either expressed or implied, when referring to the individual concerned. Proof of disability may be requested by SCWIM when applying for Full Membership. Associate Membership This is available to anyone who would like to show their support for SCWIM, especially those who wish to join SCWIM as the personal assistant of a disabled SCWIM member. What will I receive from SCWIM when I join? A SCWIM Membership Card which enables you to receive a 5% discount on purchases made at Stoke City club shops. Please note that all discounts are at the discretion of Stoke City Football Club. Regular newsletters throughout the season, which provide you with vital information and news updates. How much will I need to pay to become a member of SCWIM? The annual SCWIM membership fee, for either Full or Associate Membership, is only £5 per person, per season. Membership for the 2008/2009 season is valid from 1st July 2008 until 30th June 2009. More members means a stronger voice, and
a stronger voice means a greater ability to make a difference. Download your SCWIM membership application form here. The document is in Adobe PDF format. You will need Adobe Reader installed on your computer to view the document. To download the free software visit the Adobe web site.

Gift Aid Details
Your £5 membership fee can be treated by SCWIM as a Gift Aid donation. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, SCWIM gets an extra 25 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further. This means that £5 can be turned into £6.25, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it does not cost you a thing. So if you want your donation to go further, Gift Aid it. To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount we will claim in the tax year. How do I know if I am a UK taxpayer? You are a UK taxpayer if: Tax is taken from your wages or salary before you receive your pay. You have to fill in a self-assessment form each year. You have any taxable savings (for example, in a building society), pension plan or investment income. You have recently paid, or expect to pay, capital gains tax, on the sale of a property or shares, for example. Please note that inheritance tax does not count as UK income tax. What if I do not pay UK tax? We cannot gift aid your donation. What if I am a pensioner? You may still pay tax on a private pension plan or savings account, or pay capital gains tax if you sell property or shares.
